Give your students the opportunity to practice adding two-digit numbers and 1-digit numbers in this interactive math practice activity! This online math lesson from I Know It is ideal for second grade students. Math questions are presented in a variety of formats, including word problems, vertical addition problems, and horizontal addition problems. Some questions use visual aids, such as place value blocks.
Here are some examples of questions your students may be asked in this interactive addition lesson: "59 + 6 =" "Add 57 and 5," and "Winston had 73 crayons in his desk. Sasha gave him 5 more. How many crayons does Winston have in all?"
This math lesson includes several features that help students make the most out of their addition practice time. A progress-tracker in the upper-right corner of the practice screen shows students how many questions they have answered in the lesson so far; a score-tracker beneath that shows them how many questions they have answered correctly so far.
If students click the "Hint" button in the lower-left corner of the screen, they will be shown a relevant written or pictorial clue that will help them solve the addition problem at hand. If they click the speaker icon in the upper-left corner, the question will be read aloud to them in a clear voice. (This is a great option for ESL/ELL students and students who prefer auditory learning.) When students answer a problem incorrectly, a detailed explanation page will show them how to answer it correctly so they can learn from their mistakes.
